Global Care is the social justice and disaster relief arm of International Network of Churches. Global Care consists of 2000 volunteers in 85 locations around Australia. Each local operation is connected to an INC church and responds to the specific needs of people within their communities. While the activities vary across Australia, the focus of every Global Care is mates helping mates – whether through domestic and international disaster relief, low cost grocery stores, safe housing, property restoration projects, micro-enterprise funding, advocacy, National Others Week and more. Global Care helps communities rebuild and reconnect through practical help at the ground level.
Locally Bay Life Church Global care operates a small but expanding food relief operation, open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30am till 12pm at 15A Bavarde Ave. We currently offer free bread, tea/coffee and donut and great value bags of fruit and veg for $2 donation. On Fridays there is also a BBQ (run by Dan and sponsored by Batehaven Butchery) This a great time of pantry helpas well as some easy company along with a cuppa.
Volunteers are always needed. If you can pack, setup, clean, make a cuppa, help with gardening, chat to lonely people etc etc we would love to hear from you
